Psoralens are natural compounds which in a photoinduced process may add to DNA. The process is relied on in treatments of skin diseases via PUVA therapy.

Together with Wolfgang Zinth’s group of LMU München we studied this process with time resolved spectroscopy. The results are summarized in a recent article in JACS. The picture shows the Düsseldorf co-authors celebrating this in the Old Town.
