Capture and Separation of SO2 Traces in Metal-Organic Frameworks via Pre-synthetic Pore Environment Tailoring by Methyl Groups

The pre-synthetic pore environment tailoring strategy has been applied to improve low-pressure SO2 affinity on stable isostructural methyl-functionalized MOFs by controlling methyl groups density. The enhanced low-pressure SO2 uptake and SO2 separation was achieved. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor-made MOF adsorbent for challenging gas purification application.
